In recent years we have witnessed continuous changes in the classification of plants resulted in the most sometimes using modern molecular techniques. A genus level most of the time variable species are segregated in many species, as recently happened with Cistus symphytifolius sensu lato, in other cases the opposite is true many "species" now included in a alone. This has been the case Patellifolia procumbens, so far recognized three species in the Canary Islands Patellifolia patellaris (Moq.) AJ Scott , Patellifoliawebbiana (Moq.) AJ Scott and Patellifolia procumbens (C. Sm.) AJ Scott that differed mainly by sheet form, woodiness and life cycle. In a recent review of gender above the 3 species now included in Patellifolia procumbens (C. Sm.) AJ Scott, would be distributed taxon Macaronesia and the Mediterranean basin. Sincerely Patellifolia is a genre that does not know enough to form an opinion on the appropriateness of this new approach. In the Canaries under this new light our Tebet grow in all the islands, in parts of basement floor and thermophilous forest. Glabrous herbs would be facing very variable, procumbent to vines, perennials and annuals to highly variable flat-leaf (pictured appears plants were included in Patellifolia webbiana (Moq.) AJ Scott )
